B. Naviagtor and Vista
======================================================================
Vista has something called data integrity. In order for Naviagtor upgrades
to work in the c:\program files\Navigator directory: Right click on the
Shortcut you use to open Navigator, and select properties, then select the
compatibility Tab, then at the bottom of that screen check the box that says
"Run this program as an Administrator" this is for windows vista users only.
If you run Vista and do not do this then your data file will be put in a
separate directory located in a folder called...
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Navigator.
If for some reason you open Navigator and it looks like your data is not there,
please close Navigator and follow the directions above. If you still have problems,
please email rskinner@rangerdepot.com.
C. Information about Export / Import Function
======================================================================
This import feature is designed for outposts that run a separate instance
of Navigator for each group. The import feature will assist you in dealing
with boys who have graduated into a new group by allowing you to move the
boy's information to the next group commander's Navigator.
This import feature is not designed to merge or combine multiple Navigator
databases into a single Navigator database and will not overwrite or replace
existing records. The ability to synchronize databases is a future project.
This import uses Navigator's NEX files that are created using the
export feature in any Navigator program v1.55 and above.
Only NEX files are supported at this time.

a Mpact Navigator User Guide. If your please send a email to

You may also want to print the Roty Apps out several times during the year to show your boys the progress they are making.
